Do I have to memorize the periodic table to get ready for the ACT?

The simple answer is no.  Most of the science test is about your ability to read and interpret data, often in the form  of graphs, tables, or other descriptions of scientific data.  It does help to have a basic understanding of science, but almost all of the questions can be answered strictly from the data provided–you don’t have to know anything else in preparation.
