ACT practice tests are essential to your preparation for the ACT and this guide is an essential part of your practice and preparation. Why? One simple reason:
It is published by the creators of the ACT test and is the only guide that offers authentic ACT questions.
Of course there are other reasons as well, but this is the most important. If you are going to spend the time taking ACT practice tests, why wouldn’t you want to use actual tests? It will give you a feel for the flow of the test and the types of questions on the test. Other guides try to get close, but they vary greatly in how true they are to the actual ACT test. The best way to prepare for the ACT test is to practice with real problems. Period.
If this reason isn’t enough, look at these additional benefits:

This guide will not give you a lot of specific information on how to crack the ACT. There is some information that you can glean from the guide to help with that but you will be better off with something like the ACT Exam Secrets Study Guide or ACT Exam Flashcard Secrets for that information. But for having actual ACT practice tests to use, there is none better than the Real ACT Prep Guide. Click here for more information about the Real ACT Prep Guide.

It is essential to take 3-4 practice tests, to learn how to time yourself, get familiar with their favorite types of problems, and hit some of the favorite vocabulary words. Nothing beats a solid college prep high school course of study, but a good ACT prep effort can get you 2-3 points – a substantial result!

Practice bubbling in so that you don’t accidentally bubble in wrong answers the day of the real ACT. If you have some time at the end of the section, I recommend checking your scantron answers with your booklet answers to make sure you didn’t accidentally bubble any answers incorrectly.
